December Meeting

Decembers Winners

Notes of meeting 10th December 15

This month there were 19 members present.

This month being the xmas meeting members were invited to come and demonstrate some of their talents.

Bert Alexius started with a sanding stick for the inside of vases and other hollow forms. These can be tailored to match different shapes and are a safe way of working internals, also do not burn fingers!

Stuart then made a goblet but to do so, he had to demonstrate how to fix a faulty lathe.

Finally John B showed how to make a snow man and xmas tree.

This Month’s Competition

This month’s competition a Christmas decoration or present was won by Phil Smith with an excellent bowl, John C was second and John B third.

Next Competition

The next competition will be a Hollow Form.

Next Meeting

The next demonstration meeting will be the 14th January 16 and will be John Blake colouring.

Richard Smith due to personal commitments has informed us that he will be unable to continue with his duties as club treasurer from the AGM and Phil Smith has agreed to take over that role.

Eddie Eddison has agreed to take over from Phil S organisation of the raffle and monthly competitions.

The club members were asked for other nominations for the positions, none were forthcoming and then appointments were approved by a show of hands.

When items of club equipment and tools are on loan, please ensure they are brought to the various meetings particularly for the hands on evenings so that members can receive tuition with adequate equipment available.
